UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Laboratory Director to lead and advance the laboratory department in a 1.0 FTE, salaried role. You will develop departmental goals, oversee patient care delivery, information systems, budgeting and audits, and foster professional growth while ensuring compliance with clinical and ethical standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science (Master's preferred), with 5 years as a technologist, plus at least 2 years in leadership and 5

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• 5 years as Technologist.
• 2 years leadership or supervisory experience.
• 5 years of management and administrative experience (Preferred).
• ASCP or equivalent certification required or preferred.

How you'll contribute

• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
• Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
• Supervises and delegates department inventory control

What we're looking for :

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science
• Master's degree (Preferred)
• 5 years as Technologist
• 2 years previous leadership or supervisory experience
• 5 years of management and administrative experience (Preferred)
• Valid State of Michigan driver license
• ASCP or equivalent
