Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Plant Operations Director to lead departmental goals and ensure high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include directing budgeting, staffing, audits and multidisciplinary collaboration to support a safe, compliant and patient-centered environment within the hospital’s facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards aligned with organization requirements.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations including patient care delivery, IT, service levels and complaint management.
  • Plans staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluations and training.
  • Prepares, monitors and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates internal/external audits and drives quality control.
  • Creates a growth-oriented environment for staff development.
  • Ensures the department stays focused on its role in the continuum of care.

How You'll Contribute
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
  • Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
