UP Health System Marquette invites applications for a Laboratory Director. This full-time salaried position leads the laboratory team, directs operations, and drives quality, budgeting, and compliance within a patient-care setting in Marquette, Michigan.

The candidate should possess a Bachelor's in Laboratory Science, with a Master’s preferred, and 5+ years as a technologist plus 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. ASCP or equivalent is required.

Qualificações

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years as a technologist with leadership or supervisory experience.
• Minimum 5 years of management/administrative experience preferred.
• Valid State of Michigan driver license and ASCP or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Develops and implements departmental goals aligned with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical standards.
• Directs operations, patient care delivery, information systems, service levels, and complaint management.
• Plans staffing, hires, orients, evaluates, and manages education initiatives.
• Monitors budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding; coordinates audits.
• Creates an environment for professional growth and integrates evidence-based practices.

A Laboratory Director who excels in this role:

• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
• administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
• Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level
• determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing
• education initiatives.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance
• with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
• Supervises and delegates department inventory control

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science
• Master's degree (Preferred)
• 5 years as Technologist
• 2 years previous leadership or supervisory experience
• 5 years of management and administrative experience (Preferred)
