Job summary

Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator in Pathology - Phlebotomy. This role provides daily oversight for specimen collection, processing and delivery, and supports staff education and problem solving.

The position requires phlebotomy or medical lab training and at least two years in a clinical lab. Strong communication with providers and attention to pre-analytical processes are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical laboratory technician, phlebotomy, or other specialized laboratory training required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in a clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee collection, processing and delivery of all specimens entering the lab.
  • Facilitate education, training and problem solving for staff.
  • Serve as a resource for communications with other healthcare providers and for client services and billing.

This position provides daily oversight for the collection, processing and delivery of all specimens flowing into the laboratory. Additionally, this role facilitates education, training, problem solving and serves as a resource for communications with other health care providers. Provides expertise in all pre-analytical laboratory processes, client services, and billing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical laboratory technician, phlebotomy, or other specialized laboratory training required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in a clinical laboratory environment.
