Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support procurement, testing, and processing of specimens. You will enter data, manage supply inventory, and assist with result entry in a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

Your responsibilities span specimen handling, instrument maintenance, phlebotomy desk support, and teamwork with technologists. A high school diploma and clinical lab experience or related degree are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of previous clinical laboratory experience or a B.S. in Biological Sciences.
• Proficient data entry and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Enters and verifies test requests and patient information.
• Assists with specimen processing, storage, and disposal per procedures.
• Provides inventory management support and rotates restocks as needed.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs calibration.
• Supports front desk duties in the lab as needed.
