Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center is hiring for a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team in Anchorage. The role includes accurate specimen collection, bedside testing, and data entry for patient billing and charting. Work is performed on-site with a focus on timely, courteous service to patients and Nursing Home clients.

Qualified candidates will have a HS diploma or GED and 2 years of phlebotomy experience (or 1 year in a clinical setting). Experience in specimen processing is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years phlebotomy experience or one year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
  • Less than one year experience considered for PAMC Lab employees of six months or greater with approval from Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provides efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or Nursing Home Clients.
  • Collects and receives specimens accurately and timely according to policies and regulations.
  • Performs bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested.
  • Enters data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting.
  • Performs processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.

Position is Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 hours per week. Located onsite at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Provides efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or residents of Nursing Home Clients. Provides accurate and timely collection and receiving of specimens for all patients in accordance with medical center and laboratory policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations. Performs bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested. Accurately enters data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting. Performs processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.

Required Qualifications:

These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
