Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK, is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist for 40 hours per week, day shift, onsite at PAMC. Responsibilities include specimen collection and processing, data entry into the hospital and laboratory systems, and performing bedside tests as requested.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of phlebotomy experience (or 1 year in a clinical setting). Onsite work at PAMC is required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• 2 years phlebotomy experience or 1 year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
• Less than one year experience will be considered for PAMC Lab employees of six months or greater with approval from Director.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or Nursing Home clients.
• Collect and receive specimens accurately and timely.
• Enter data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting.
• Perform bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested.
• Perform processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.

Provides accurate and timely collection and receiving of specimens for all patients in accordance with medical center and laboratory policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations. Performs bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested. Accurately enters data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting. Performs processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.
