Job summary

HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist (PRN) to collect specimens, process specimens, and assist with patient registration under supervision. The role supports service quality, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, and coordination with referral labs, with emphasis on accuracy and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in a clinical lab setting preferred.
• Vocational/Technical degree preferred.
• Certification in Phlebotomy, MA, Paramedic or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and perform venipunctures/finger sticks per procedures.
• Process and prepare specimens, and document collection per orders.
• Enter orders and register patients, maintain specimen labeling accuracy.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and handle routine QA tasks.
