Job summary

Olympic Medical Center in Sequim, WA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support hospital laboratory services, including outpatient registration, test ordering, specimen processing, phlebotomy when needed, customer service calls, and courier coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic Lab information systems experience, and BLS clearance. Phlebotomy certification within 90 days and WA driver's license for courier duties are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Efficient keyboarding skills and experience with Lab and Hospital information systems is desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• When assigned Phlebotomist duties: WA Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification licensure filed with WA DOH after completion of OMC phlebotomy training within 90 days of hire, required.
• When assigned courier duties: Valid Washington driver’s license required; driving record in compliance with OMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Will provide quality customer service and courier service to patients served by Olympic Medical Center Laboratory.
• Perform outpatient registration, test ordering, processing of outpatient laboratory specimens, hospital and outpatient phlebotomy, answer customer service calls, and coordinate courier services as assigned.
