Job summary

Providence Swedish Edmonds is seeking a compassionate phlebotomy technician to support the laboratory and medical staff. You will represent the lab to patients, physicians and offices while receiving, accessioning and processing specimens following established procedures.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of a phlebotomy program. Upon hire, WA Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification or WA Medical Assistant Certification is required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of a phlebotomy program through a post-secondary school, college, military program, employer, or an equivalent training program.
Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification --or-- Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

Represent the laboratory to the public, physicians, patients and offices while assisting laboratory technical staff, receiving/accessioning and/or processing specimens according to laboratory procedures.
Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety; environmental and infectious control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
