Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II for Swedish Hospital in Chicago. The role is full-time with 6am–2:30pm shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The candidate will liaison between the lab and providers, process specimens, document data in the LIS, and support inventory and safety compliance. Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1 year of phlebotomy or lab experience, plus strong customer service and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year phlebotomy or laboratory experience requested.
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support as a liaison between laboratory and providers.
• Specimen processing and handling according to established guidelines, protocol and procedures.
• Record and document specimen information in Laboratory Information System.
• Prepare and track specimen for transport to reference laboratories.
• Maintain organized records, and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain and clean laboratory equipment.
• Assist with inventory control and supply ordering.
• Adhere to all safety protocol and infection control measures, including disposal of biohazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP).
