Position Description:
The Neuroimmunology Research Lab within the UCSF Department of Medicine is offering an entry-level research assistant position. This opportunity is intended for someone interested in gaining laboratory experience.
Our laboratory has pioneered the study of murine microglia and macrophages in neurodegenerative diseases, such as traumatic brain injury and neurological lupus.
Ongoing projects aim to study the role of macrophages and inflammatory genes in traumatic brain injury and experimental lupus models.
The successful applicant will assist senior lab staff with studies involving techniques such as animal behavior experiments, sequencing library preparation, animal colony maintenance, cell culture, and cytokine assays.

Working Conditions/Environment
The work environment is a biomedical research laboratory, which may include noise and temperature variations. The incumbent may need to stand or sit for prolonged periods and use a computer keyboard and monitor.
The salary range is $18.67 - $21.42 per hour, with actual offers based on experience, education, location, and internal considerations. Additional compensation such as bonuses may be available.
