Job summary

Eurofins Viracor LLC in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support accessioning, specimen management, data entry, and storage with precision. This role focuses on ensuring samples are processed accurately and stored properly, with collaboration across lab teams.

Level I duties include receiving shipments, checking samples, resolving issues with clients, operating front-end automation, and maintaining QA records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable with raw specimen handling.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comply with SOPs and policies.
• Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and document appropriately.
• Examine samples for accuracy and other requirements.
• Contact client to resolve sample/testing issues or discrepancies.
• Complete correction requests as needed.
• Operate front end processing automation equipment as assigned.
• Perform data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Label samples and deliver them to proper areas.
• Retrieve and re-file samples for testing.
• Properly store specimens for short/long term storage.
• Prepare specimens to be shipped and adhere to shipping requirements.
• Maintain quality control and QA records; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Follow lab policies and communicate with colleagues to complete tasks.
