A leading company is looking for a Lab Assistant in San Diego for a 6-month contract role, supporting the quality control department. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, supporting compliance, and assisting with laboratory operations in a dynamic cGMP environment. Shift: Monday - Friday, start time either 7am or 7:30am
Supplier spotlight call notes:
· Should have HS diploma with 0-5 years of experience. Associates degree is ok.
· Overqualified – 10+ years of experience or someone with a bachelor’s in science or a master’s degree, etc would be overqualified, this is more of an entry level role. Bachelor’s may be ok if not in the science field a Bachelor of Art for example that are looking to pivot from their degree, but still worried they wouldn’t stay long.
Main responsibility:
· Helping out QC release team – 40 different people on the release team, this person is a support in terms of picking up samples, ordering inventory, performing calibration maintenance, etc
· LIMS – will train them on how to enter materials into LIMS, where they keep record of any testing
· Will also be trained in AGILE and Oracle
· Want someone that can learn these programs and proficient in word and excel
Must be:
· Organized
· Can self-manage their schedule
· Self-motivated
· Must be able to lift or push 50 pounds
Our lab assistant supports the entire QC SD department with procurement, cleaning, and maintenance.
Job Summary:
· The Lab Assistant will be responsible to maintain the QC Laboratories in a state of compliance.
· Ensure maintenance activities are performed for understanding and executing testing on multiple assay platforms in a dynamic cGMP environment to ensure timely release of products.
· Testing may be performed on various automated platforms for multiple product lines in addition to manual testing. The associate should have good technique and follow proper workflows.
· The associate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory instruments, inventory, equipment, and processes and supporting continuous improvement programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for maintaining QC material inventory.
· Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory, stocking shelves/drawers with supplies as needed.
· Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, calibrating, or submitting items for calibration as needed.
· Responsible for completing training in a timely manner and maintaining records.
· Responsible for sample pickup from Quality Inspection or Manufacturing and performing required transactions.
· Responsible for analytical glass washing and rack washing.
· May be responsible for managing pipette, thermometers, and timer calibration across various laboratories.
· Prepares documents for storage in our document management system and may manage original data files.
· Responsible for cycle count of QC materials.
· Responsible for equipment (water bath, incubators, refrigerators) regular maintenance activities.
· Responsible for instrument (Tigris, Panther, Fusion) monthly maintenance.
· May train on QC test methods to support QC testing as needed.
· May assist with other activities as required to support QC teams.

· Has good understanding and past demonstration of Good Documentation Practices.
Qualifications:
