Duly Health and Care in Lockport is seeking a Histology Laboratory Assistant to support routine lab processing. You will monitor supplies, assist technologists, and accession surgical pathology and cytology cases in Epic under supervision.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, strong organization, and attention to detail. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package and a base pay range that reflects local market rates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory and stock supplies in the lab.
• Answer lab phones and assist technologists in processing specimens.

• Verify labeling; contact clinics to resolve discrepancies.
• Process cytology specimens for cytotechnologists to screen.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper lab maintenance.

If labeling discrepancies are noticed, contact the clinic for verification before processing.Fill out RL6 for any discrepancies.Process cytology specimens for cytotechnologists to screen.Triage slides to proper locations - utilize packing lists when necessaryMonitor faxes and send slides/blocks to outside facilities as requested.File blocks and slides.Processor and Stainer maintenance.Complete daily maintenance charts and report any defects or malfunctions to lab management.Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
