Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the pathology lab with accessioning, labeling and routine slide staining under supervision. The role involves data entry, filing, and preparing reagents while maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (Associate of Science preferred) and at least one year of lab experience, with strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate of Science preferred.
  • One year experience in laboratory setting preferred.
  • Must be reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Proficient computer skills and data entry abilities are required.

Responsibilities

  • Accessioning and labeling of tissue samples.
  • Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
  • Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining.
  • Perform routine H&E staining manually or with automation.
  • Distribute slides to pathologists and file blocks and slides.
  • Handle filing and paperwork related to specimens and reports.
  • Perform specimen pickups as needed and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and ensure safety/QA standards.

Local travel in the region may be required to another location as needed.
