Position Name: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant

Pay rate: $18/hr -$20/hr

Location: Indianapolis IN 46250

Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension

Shift: Dayshift-Mon-Fri :3AM-11:30AM with rotating weekends, Eastern Time Zone / Evening shift-Mon-Fri :11AM-7:30PM with rotating weekends

Job Summary:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Sort, receive, and log specimens accurately
• Prepare specimens for testing: aliquoting, labeling, slide prep, and checking for clots/fibrin
• Perform centrifugation, specimen storage/retrieval, and reagent/media prep
• Conduct routine instrument maintenance and decontaminate work areas
• Handle QA/QC tasks, resolve pending lists, and locate missing samples
• Maintain departmental records and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests
• Safely dispose of biohazardous materials and follow PPE/safety protocols
• Change gas cylinders and use lab computer systems and PCs efficiently

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (medical assistant training a plus)
• Strong multitasking, organization, and prioritization abilities
• Ability to retain information and follow SOPs accurately
• Courteous, respectful communication with team and clients
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail
