Position Details:

• Title: CPD&D Laboratory Assistant
• Position Type: 1-year contract with potential for extension based on performance and business needs
• Location: Indianapolis, IN
• Shift: 1st shift
• Benefits: 401K, Dental, Life, Medical, Vision Insurance
• Compensation: $22/hour

Responsibilities:

This role involves work in the biology group focused on herbicide discovery, including lab work and greenhouse activities:

• Mixing herbicide application solvents
• Formulation and application of herbicidal compounds
• Weighing plant samples
• Assessing plant injury
• Bagging plant material for de-vitalization
• Data entry
• Lab cleaning and maintenance

The position requires working in various greenhouse conditions and handling plant material. Ability to work independently and in small teams is essential. Training will be provided; a background in plant biology or horticulture is preferred.

Additional specific tasks include transplanting plants, moving carts between lab and greenhouses, and trimming plant material.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree preferred
• Greenhouse experience is a plus
