**Responsibilities**
**Job Summary / Purpose**
Works primarily in the lab specimen processing and intake department. Assists with specimen management and clerical duties as requested. May perform blood collection and specimen processing. If permitted by local/state regulations, may perform waived or moderately complex testing, appropriate to the department's organization.

**Required Education and Experience**
High School Diploma or GED
**Required Certification and License**
Nevada: CLA:NV
California: PHLEB:CA
Washington: MAP:WA
Other states: Not required
All states: BLS-CPR within 90 days
**Preferred Certifications**
Lab Assistant Program certification
Phlebotomy program certificate
**Preferred Experience**
6 months in an acute care facility
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
Excellent customer service and time management skills
