Job Summary and Qualifications

Part-time position, shifts from 10:30 AM to 7:00 AM

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will perform functions of a technical or clerical nature in the laboratory, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, microbiology, histology, and reporting.

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collection for various age groups.
• Collect, process, and transport specimens.
• Identify proper tubes, containers, media, and storage conditions.
• Ensure positive identification of patients and samples.
• Maintain collection trays and outpatient areas.
• Assist in microbiology and histology procedures as needed.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and distribute reports.
• Maintain records of outpatient orders.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Previous phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Formal phlebotomy training from an accredited program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification.
