Summary
The Center for Comparative Medicine provides for the care, health and well-being of all research animals used in the pursuit of scientific achievement and excellence at Baylor College of Medicine. CCM provides the highest quality veterinary and animal care and acts as a resource for the faculty on veterinary and scientific issues relating to the use of laboratory animals. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing skilled husbandry for a diverse group of research animals according to established procedures and standards. Primary working areas may include specialized areas such as USDA covered species, biohazard areas, and animal colonies requiring specialized procedures. Alternating weekend and holiday work is required. Persons in this position are considered essential when the College declares an emergency or campus closure and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by their direct supervisor.
