Shellac nails yield a similar effect to gel nails – a long-lasting, shiny polish that lasts around 14 days. The distinction is in the formula: gel is a liquid gel formula, while shellac is a mixture of gel polish and normal nail polish. Shellac also needs UV light to cure. Shellac polish is easily removed due to the chemical reaction that happens as it cures. When acetone is applied to the paint, it flakes into little fragments and quickly peels off.

Gold Foil - this technique is used to embellish the nail after it has been polished. Gold foil is very thin and comes in shapes or tiny sheets that can be molded. It comes in a variety of shades, including gold.
