The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Division of Comparative Medicine, is seeking Laboratory Animal Technicians for daily care of research animals, cage cleaning, observation, handling, treatments, and support to investigators. This position requires flexibility for occasional after-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent with animal technician training; AALAS ALAT certification is strongly preferred.

Formación

• Cares for research animals daily, including observation and handling.
• Maintains sanitation and cage cleanliness per protocol.
• Maintains records of treatments and animal status.

Responsabilidades

• Daily care of research animals, including cage cleaning and sanitation, observation, handling and restraint, treatments, investigator communication, and facility maintenance.
• Emergency duties during adverse weather or other emergencies; weekend/holiday work on a rotating basis.
