Northeastern University is seeking an Animal Care Technician to provide husbandry and care for laboratory animals, maintain records, and help with facility sanitation in DLAM's Animal Facilities. You will work with little supervision, may cover multiple areas, and be required to work weekends and holidays, with occasional overtime.

The role involves daily exposure to animals and their waste, and requires a high school diploma, at least two years of animal care experience, and ALAT certification

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• A minimum of two years of animal care experience.
• ALAT certification preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide appropriate animal care for assigned responsibilities according to SOPs.
• Follow schedules for husbandry, care and housing of laboratory animals.
• Feed, water, and clean cages for assigned animals.
• Report animal health or behavioral problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain animal inventory records and related facility records.
• Assist with receiving and processing incoming animals and supplies.
• Sanitize and maintain equipment and cages; operate cage-wash and autoclave.
