Job summary

Yoh is seeking a Laboratory Animal Technician in St. Louis, Missouri, to join our client team in the vivarium. The role focuses on daily husbandry of rodents, cage sanitation, and accurate census records, with a 6:30am–3:00pm shift.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of animal handling experience, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Purina certification is required within 6 months. Competitive benefits are available through Yoh.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily husbandry care to rodents in the vivarium, including feed, water, clean cages and enrichment.
• Sanitize rodent colony rooms, rotate cages, and disinfect areas per schedule.
• Daily observation to monitor health and report issues to supervisor or veterinarian.
• Keep daily animal census and sanitation records for the animal room.

Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide and document daily husbandry care to rodents in the vivarium to include the provision of feed, water, clean cages, and enrichment.
• Sanitize maintain rodent colony rooms to include sweeping and mopping of animal quarters, rotating animal cages, large equipment and room supplies for cleaning according to schedule and disinfecting all areas in room.
• Daily observation is required to monitor behaviors, illness or death in animals and report to Supervisor, Facility Manager orVeterinarian in a timely fashion.
• Keep record of daily animal census and sanitation of animal room.

Qualifications

• Be able to lift up to 30 lbs
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of Animal Handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain Purina certification within 6 months.

Estimated Min Rate: $18.00
