Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Livonia, MI is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to prepare and analyze samples with precision following SGS SOPs. You will work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets while maintaining hold and turnaround times.

The role focuses on general chemistry techniques, GC-MS, titrations, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and Mercury analysis. Candidates should have relevant chemistry training and strong attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Chemistry or similar discipline with 0–2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, or 3 years of relevant experience (e.g., Sample Prep).
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or similar discipline with 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS SOPs using department-specific instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies as needed.
• Respond to client inquiries and CARs; document technical information.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and adhere to internal standards and procedures.
