Job summary

SGS in Livonia, MI seeks a Laboratory Analyst to perform sample preparation and analysis with accuracy per SOPs. You will work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met.

The position requires an Associate or Bachelor's degree in chemistry with 0–2 years (or 1–2 years for bachelor's) of relevant experience, advanced English, strong math skills, and basic computing ability; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Chemistry or similar field with 0–2 years in Analytical Chemistry labs, or 3 years related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or similar field with 1–2 years in Analytical Chemistry labs.
• Advanced English language skills and strong math/reasoning.
• Basic computer skills and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS SOPs using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Assists with investigation, and preparation of responses to client inquiries and CARs.
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
