Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Lab Analyst I at our Wilmington, NC laboratory to prepare and analyze samples with accuracy following SGS SOPs. The role involves working both independently and with a team to meet daily targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met.

The candidate will apply basic analytical chemistry principles, follow safe lab practices, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment while contributing to ongoing quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or similar field with 0–2 years in analytical labs or 3 years in sample prep.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field with 1–2 years in analytical labs (preferred).
• Basic math and reasoning skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
• Experience with LIMS preferred; ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples per analytical SOPs.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Support client inquiries and CAR responses.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and follow safety standards.
