Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Orlando, FL, seeks a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) to prepare and analyze samples for fungi and bacteria. No experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities include generating reports, entering data into LIMS, maintaining equipment, and performing QA/QC per the manual. A Bachelors in Life Science is required with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Science (Biology or Microbiology) required.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience is a plus.
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopy, culture-based microbiology, bacteriology or mycology is a plus.
• Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, balances, biosafety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze microbiological samples (air, water, bulk) for fungi and bacteria.
• Apply classical and advanced microbial and bio-aerosol methods.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Perform QA/QC practices per manual; handle administrative duties like login and data entry.

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Orlando, FL. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.Essential duties and responsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteriaClassical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysisGenerate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS systemClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as neededPerform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manualAdministrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phonesOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or MicrobiologyAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorshipLaboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusExperience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plusAbility to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practicesAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeEffective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable shift:Positions is full-time time Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Candidate currently living within a commutable distance of Orlando, FL are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
