Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Workforce Relations Specialist to support labor and employee relations across the university. You will help ensure fair application of HR policies and improve operational efficiency within the Workforce Relations unit.

You will manage union petitions, respond to RFIs, and help with investigations and Skelly hearings, while collaborating with HR teams and stakeholders to address issues for a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years experience in employee/labor relations in a complex org.
• Strong knowledge of union/labor contracts.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations.
• Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage union representation petition processes, tracking and training as needed.
• Coordinate requests for information from unions and public records requests.
• Assist with workplace investigations and case data in ServiceNow.
• Support collective bargaining activities and strike planning.
• Build collaborative relations with HR colleagues and clients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
