Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an HR Specialist to administer and support Union Labor Relations across our Ithaca campus. You will lead upcoming union negotiations, guide grievance processes, and advise management on HR policies and programs to align with business objectives.

The role requires strategic planning with operations and HR, strong negotiation skills, and a collaborative approach to drive employee relations and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience in Union Labor Relations.
• Negotiations experience.
• Manufacturing experience a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead upcoming Union negotiations team through bargaining.
• Lead grievance process and second step meetings.
• Provide strategic planning with assistance of operations, human resources and other support.
• Consult with employees and managers to address root causes of HR issues with a systematic approach.
• Coach managerial staff on interpretation and application of HR law, policies, procedures and programs.
• Work with management on implementing campus HR policies and employee development programs.
• Recommend employee relations practices to promote morale and motivation.
• Coordinate and conduct internal training programs and evaluate effectiveness.
• Assist with development of new programs and initiatives.
• Participate in and/or lead employee activities and sponsored events.
• Participate in and/or lead special group projects as required.
• Complete required safety and environmental training and comply with safety requirements.
