Job summary

Gilbane is seeking a Labor Journeyman to perform basic housekeeping on construction sites in Washington, DC. The role includes site setup and cleanup, debris removal, and assisting carpenters and masons as directed by the Foreperson.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; construction experience is preferred. OSHA 10 recommended; company aids in certification. All hires must pass pre-employment testing. Gilbane is an equal opportunity employer.

Overview

The Labor Journeyman performs basic housekeeping on construction site.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup and clean up tasks at job site, including removal of construction debris
• Navigate construction job site terrain
• Clean & sanitize jobsite trailers
• Assist with basic deliveries & material storage
• Housekeeping interior and exterior project site
• Provide labor support as necessary for carpenters, masons, and other specialized contractors, work to be directed & planned by Foreperson
• Reporting all safety incidents & injuries to Foreperson and Safety Leader
• Any scope of work outside of the above listed, shall be planned, documented, and approved by Foreperson, Safety & Management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Construction experience preferred
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• OSHA 10 hour certified recommended, (Next 150 Construction will assist with obtaining this certification if necessary)
• Proof of certificates, degrees, etc. upon hire
• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
• Willingness to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
• Ability to work in a team environment

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
