Job summary

BakerHostetler is seeking an experienced Practice Manager for its Labor & Employment Practice Group. Reporting to the Chief Talent Officer, you will act as a strategic business partner and advisor, guiding business, financial, talent, and operational strategy with a high level of collaboration and executive presence.

Responsibilities span strategic leadership, financial management, talent planning, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA, JD or other advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in practice management or related fields.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Demonstrated executive presence and ability to credibly engage attorneys and leadership.
• Experience advising leadership on complex business, financial, operational, or talent initiatives.
• Prior experience with Labor & Employment or similar complex practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with practice leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
• Serve as trusted advisor on business, operational, talent, and organizational matters.
• Support workforce and succession planning and practice growth initiatives.
• Drive accountability and progress against key priorities.
• Analyze financial, operational, and productivity metrics and present insights.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Staffing, associate utilization, and hiring needs collaboration.
• Lead projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
