Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney for its New York, NY office.

The role offers substantial employment litigation exposure, direct client contact, and work with seasoned practitioners handling complex matters. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience with a strong wage and hour focus and the ability to manage matters independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academics.
• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.
• 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, with strong focus on wage and hour litigation and counseling.
• Experience advising employers on compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
• Experience handling complex wage and hour matters, including class, collective and representative actions in federal and state courts.
• Experience defending and prosecuting breaches of restrictive covenants.
• Experience preparing and negotiating employment agreements, including executive compensation provisions.
• Ability to leverage AI-driven and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and client service.

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Advise employers on complex workplace law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and risk management.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and executive compensation provisions.
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Apply AI-driven and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, client service, and quality of work.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs.
