Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Lansing, Michigan seeks a Labor and Employment Associate with 3–5 years of experience to develop expertise in a comprehensive labor and employment practice. The role offers exposure to counsel, investigations, and litigation, working with a collaborative team across employers and public sector clients.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from a ABA-accredited school and is licensed or eligible for admission in Michigan, with strong writing/analytical skills and a collaborative

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in employment and/or labor law.
• Experience advising employers, preferably with a law firm or government/public entity background.
• Exposure to litigation, including depositions, motions, and case development.
• Experience with public sector clients, investigations, or labor matters is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and analytical skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with teams and clients.
• Licensed and in good standing in Michigan, or eligible for admission.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour laws.
• Conduct or support workplace investigations.
• Participate in litigation, including depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Handle labor matters such as collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, and representation proceedings.
• Advise employers on compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws.
• Draft and revise employment policies, agreements, and related documentation.
