Job summary

Qualifications

A leading Am Law 100 law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Houston office. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of employment, commercial, and/or complex litigation experience and a strong interest in sophisticated labor and employment matters.

Responsibilities:

• Advise employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including workplace disputes, investigations, counseling, and litigation.
• Handle employment and business-to-business disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and restrictive covenants.
• Conduct complex fact investigations and legal analysis.
• Draft employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Support clients across a range of industries, from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups.
• Manage court filings and assist with all aspects of complex litigation.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of employment, commercial, and/or other complex litigation experience.
• Strong academic background and excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of court filing procedures and experience conducting complex fact investigations.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the Texas Bar.
• Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
