Summary:
ZipRecruiter is seeking a Labor Economist, Media Spokesperson to join our Economic Research team, where you will analyze labor market trends and bring critical insights to the media and public. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a key media spokesperson and the face of our research and data programs, representing ZipRecruiter in high-profile interviews and shaping conversations around hiring, wages, automation, and the evolving workforce. In this high-impact role, you’ll conduct original research, analyze labor market trends using public and proprietary data, and confidently deliver insights to diverse audiences.
We’re looking for someone who is media-savvy, able to distill data into compelling soundbites, think on their feet, and navigate interviews with ease; customer-focused, clearly communicating “why it matters” for employers, job seekers, and the public; scrappy and adaptable, comfortable building new programs; and data-driven, using econometric modeling and storytelling to influence discussions on hiring and the future of work.
This is a9-12 month contract position, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity at the manager level. If you thrive on data, media storytelling, and tackling a wide range of projects, we’d love to hear from you!

The US base pay range for this temporary contract position is $63.00/hr-$73.00/hr. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.
Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
