Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Labor & Delivery Technician for full-time night shifts. You will assist patients with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks under the RN, supporting safe, compassionate care.

Responsibilities include rounds, patient transport, room preparation, specimen collection, and adherence to infection control and safety policies. A High School diploma and BLS are required; preferred: Labor & Delivery or surgical technician experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified BLS.
• Preferred: Labor & Delivery or surgical technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Performs basic patient care tasks and prepares patient rooms.
• Collects and labels specimens; maintains infection control practices.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges; transports patients as needed.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment and supports continuous improvement.
