Job summary

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR is hiring a Surgical Technician for Labor and Delivery on a 0.9 FTE night shift (7pm–7:30am, 3 twelve-hour shifts, rotating weekends). The role supports the surgical team during procedures with sterile technique and supplies.

Eligible external hires may receive an $8,000 signing bonus. Providence offers a comprehensive benefits package including parking, tuition reimbursement, PTO, retirement, and caregiver assistance programs for staff

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES and active NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification.
• Military training in a health service branch or Public Health Service with 16 hours of CE every two years.
• “Grandfathered” experience in ASC/hospital with 16 hours CE every two years.
• Upon hire, National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and team during procedures with sterile technique and proper supplies.
• Provide sutures, instruments, and equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.

Education

Surgical technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES

Active NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification

Military or Public Health Service training with CE requirements

“Grandfathered” work-experience route with CE requirements
