Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Technologist to maintain asepsis by preventing contact between sterile and unsterile items. The role involves assisting with scrubbing, preparing the sterile field, and supporting the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, ARCS/STSA-accredited surgical tech training (or equivalent military training), and at least 1 year of surgical tech experience, with CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Surgical Technology accredited through ARC/STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience.
• Experience: 1-year surgical tech experience.
• Licensure/Certification/Listing: BLS (CPR) per American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; CST with waiver provisions for prior hires as of 12/31/2017.

Responsibilities

• Ensures sterile equipment does not contact unsterile items or surfaces to maintain asepsis.
• Observes and reports patient health changes to adapt the care plan as necessary.
• Performs basic scrub duties and table set-ups for procedures to provide a sterile, prepared environment.
• Gathers supplies and checks equipment to ensure materials are prepared for surgery.
• Verifies health status data for patients with the circulating nurse to keep detailed records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
