Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) or 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• Preferred certification in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on the surgical schedule and department needs.
• Provides services to patients under staff nurse supervision.
• Communicates patient care information to patients, families and coworkers.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, training and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid department changes due to census, acuity or resources.
• Performs other related duties as required.
