Job summary

Care Career in Brunswick, Georgia, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our hospital-based Labor & Delivery team within the Maternity Care Center. The Labor RN will manage obstetric care from antepartum through postpartum, with an orientation program for those transitioning from other acute-care specialties.

The role requires current Georgia RN licensure, at least 1 year in acute-care, and ability to work a schedule that includes days or nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree nursing program.
• Current RN license to practice in the State of Georgia.
• Minimum 1 year of acute-care hospital nursing experience.
• American Heart Association BLS certification prior to hire.
• Ability to provide postpartum nursing care.
• Ability to meet the unit's weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the care of assigned obstetric patients using appropriate clinical judgment and decision-making.
• Perform obstetric triage and antepartum assessment.
• Provide nursing care throughout labor and vaginal delivery.
• Serve as a circulating RN during Cesarean sections.
• Provide post-anesthesia and post-Cesarean recovery care.
• Provide postpartum nursing care as needed.
• Assess patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care using appropriate personnel, equipment, supplies, and clinical resources.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth experience.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital safety and quality standards.
