Job summary

Ashe Memorial Hospital in West Jefferson, NC is seeking a PRN Obstetrical Registered Nurse for 2nd shift to provide compassionate care for obstetrical patients and newborns. You will support labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care with emphasis on safety and clinical excellence.

The role requires current NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and ACLS/NRP within 6 months of hire. Prior nursing experience is preferred, and the position is in the Women’s Health department with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license in good standing
• BLS mandatory; ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to changes in condition
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn health
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent situations
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes
