Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery on a PRN basis. The RN coordinates nursing care, applies developmental considerations, and leads patient care in collaboration with the care team to ensure quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include data collection, care planning, implementing interventions, patient education, and safe medication administration, with emphasis on critical care scenarios as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN is required or must be currently enrolled.
• Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.
• 1 year current Labor & Delivery experience.
• Current BCLS Certification Required.
• Current ACLS and NRP Certifications Required.
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data to identify expected outcomes for observation and medical/surgical patients.
• Developing and prioritizes the plan of care to attain measurable goals.
• Implements the interventions identified and evaluates the results, especially for Critical Care patients.
• Identifies educational needs, implements and evaluates learning and documents patient/family education.
• Demonstrates critical thought and judgment in delivery of care related to Critical care patients.
• Delivers medications based on continual assessment, safety and evaluation of patient response.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

BSN required or currently enrolled

Current TX RN license or Compact license

1 year L&D experience

Current BCLS Certification

Current ACLS and NRP Certifications

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course within 90 days of hire
