Job summary

Lifepoint Health in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse for Women's Services to provide direct patient care using the nursing process. You will report to the Department Director or Manager and collaborate with the care team to support mothers, newborns, and families.

The role requires an RN license in the state of practice, an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), and certifications such as BCLS; ACLS, PALS, NRP and Handle with Care are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP and Handle with Care preferred.
  • Flexibility to work shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education:

Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

License:

/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Handle with Care preferred.
