Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery to coordinate patient care in a fast-paced setting. The RN will implement care plans, coordinate disciplines, and ensure smooth discharge planning with the healthcare team.

The role requires an Associate degree (BSN preferred) and labor and delivery experience, with CT RN licensure and BLS certification expected. The position offers a supportive residency and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.
• Education: Associate degree required, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs with healthcare team members.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients' needs.
• Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care.
• Participate in activities for professional growth and development.
