Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mount Carmel East Labor and Delivery unit. The role involves delivering patient-centered care for high-risk labor, Cesarean deliveries, and antepartum patients, in a 12-bed labor unit with 2 OR rooms.

You will work within Ohio Nurse Practice Act standards, providing care under Nursing Process guidelines in a supportive, mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; assist with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; set up procedures.
• Administer medications under the provider's direction according to organizational standards and guidelines.
• Assist in emergency situations under provider supervision.
• Educate patients and family members about procedures and diagnoses.
• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients.
• Assume responsibility for care provided and documented by other care givers as appropriate.
