Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This full-time Day shift features 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. three 12-hour shifts per week, with sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

BSN from an accredited nursing program; ADN must complete BSN within 5 years.
1 year of RN clinical experience in acute care required.
Licensed or eligible for Virginia RN licensure; multi-state license acceptable.
BLS required at start; ACLS/PALS within stated timeframes depending on unit.
Chemo card within 3 months for Infusion Center units.
Certification and licensure details align with job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a family-centered manner.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify care priorities.
Develop and implement individualized care plans to optimize outcomes.
Evaluate progress, anticipate changes, adjust plans as needed.
Coordinate care and discharge planning with the team and resources.
Advocate for patient rights; document accurately and timely.
Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines; serve as a mentoring resource.
Engage in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives.
