Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington state is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Med/Surg with Mother/Baby exposure. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care within a compassionate, patient-centered team environment.

The role requires WA RN licensure, BLS certification, and completion of an NRP within six months. New grads with L&D practicum or Mother/Baby experience are welcome, with BSN preferred and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• 1–2 years Med/Surg experience with Mother/Baby education or new grad with L&D practicum.
• Registered Nurse license for WA upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required on hire.
• NRP required within 6 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Administers and documents medications per physician orders and hospital policy.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and plans care accordingly.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assists with discharge planning and coordinates post-discharge needs.
• Documents care delivery and patient status using the nursing process.
