Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for obstetric patients. You will coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive maternal and neonatal outcomes.

The role requires current Pennsylvania RN licensure, BLS, and perinatal experience. You may be scheduled for rotating shifts and local travel between System locations; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, critical thinking, sound judgment, and knowledge of nursing legal liability.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.
• A Nursing refresher course may be required if not in acute care in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops and reviewing publications.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to standards and regulations and adjusting as needed.
• Protect patients and staff by following infection-control and medication procedures.
• Document patient care in records and communicate actions across teams.
• Maintain continuity among nursing teams and support care planning.
• Contribute to team improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of equipment and manage supplies.
• Provide direct oversight of other staff and supervise delegated duties where appropriate.
